One day a great wildfire broke out in the forest, terrified all the forest animals fled their homes and ran to the river for safety. As the fire raged, the animals felt hopeless and afraid. Everyone of the animals felt there was nothing they could do, it was a helpless situation, everyone that is except for one tiny hummingbird. This tiny, little hummingbird quickly swooped down into the river and picked up a few drops of water and went straightway into the forest and dropped them onto the fire. It kept flying back to the river again, and again while all the other animals looked on in disbelief. They started shouting and trying to discourage him to keep away, because the fire was too great, and he was too small. What do you think you are doing asked the large brown bear? Without missing a beat, the hummingbird looked backed and said, “I’m doing my part”.
Please remember, doing this pandemic we all have a part, we can continue to wear our mask, take the vaccine when it becomes available, remember to social distance and practice good hygiene. We are responsible for our actions, the ones we take as well as the ones we don’t take.
